We host a home buyer's workshop on the First and Third Thursday of every month from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in Fort Collins to help future homeowners fully understand the process to purchase a home...and not any home, but the home that fits within their budget and meets their goals. This class is absolutely free and is hosted by a local mortgage consultant, Stacy Fridal of Premier Mortgage Group and local real estate consultant, Mike Malvey of The Group Inc.
Here are a few things you'll learn at the workshop.
- How much home can I afford?
- What goverment programs do I qualify for?
- How many zero down loan programs do I qualify for?
- What are closing costs?
- What are the important differences between short-sales and resale homes?
- What programs do I qualify for that will pay my closing costs?
- Do I qualify to receive the $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit or the $6,500 step-up tax credit?
- Home inspections - Do I need one?
- How an appraisal affects your ability to buy a home.
- What are the 7 steps involved in buying a home?
- How do I make an offer on a home?
- Why the seller pays for your realtor to work for you!
- Can I see my credit report? Is my credit good enough?
- What's the best way to find the right home?
- How do mortgages work?
- How to avoid paying thousands more than the home is worth without even knowing it?
- How can I tap into the Realtor database to find the best homes before anyone else?
We will also have a question and answer period to make sure that you will have a lot more knowledge about home buying after this workshop than you did when you walked into the classroom. That I can guarantee. There is no pressure or obligation to do anything but you will be armed with knowledge and that is powerful!
We encourage you to bring a friend. You'll receive a home buyer's book that you can keep and use as a valuable reference guide as you navigate the home buying process.
In 2009, we helped 21 first-time buyers become home owners! This class shows how you too can be a home owner!
The tax credit expires on June 30, 2010, but a home MUST be under contract by April 30, 2010 to be eligible.
We look forward to helping you achieve the dreams of homeownership! |
